Tryouts for the 2011 season –
[NOTE:  our travel and tournament baseball program commences play in April each year and continues through the summer season.  The players are selected each Fall in tryouts sessions to select the roster for the following baseball season.  Or, players are selected during the Winter Workout sessions preceding the season.  For example, the players on the rosters for our 2010 season were selected at tryouts sessions which will be held in the Fall of 2009 or from evaluations conducted in the Winter Workout program of 2000-2010.  The tryouts for the 2011 season will begin on the schedule posted, below, and continue through the Fall tryouts season and Winter Workout program- the coaching staff requests candidates attend any two tryouts sessions, but recommends candidates attend at least three sessions].

The Scorpions Baseball Club will be holding tryouts for the 2011 season.

            14U @ 11:30 AM

           15U @ 2:00 PM

 Players must be 13, 14, 15 years of age by May 1, 2011 to be considered for the teams.  Younger players who are talented enough can try out for older teams if the wish.  Players are required to attend two tryout sessions but should come to as many sessions as possible.

 Players will be evaluated in these sessions and roster invitations will be given to 13 qualified players after all tryout have commenced.  Players should dress appropriately for the try-outs and be prepared for a complete workout.  Players should arrive a half hour before tryout start time to properly warm up. 

 Candidates pay a one-time $25 try-outs fee and may attend all sessions for the fee.  Candidates should consider attending multiple sessions to permit the coaching staff to thoroughly evaluate a player’s skills and potential. Pitchers should be prepared to pitch and catchers should bring their equipment. 

 If 13 players are not accepted during fall tryouts players may be invited for further evaluation by our coaching staff in the Winter Work Out program commencing in January 2011. The Winter Workout sessions are intended to prepare players for the upcoming season, but also serve as the opportunity to introduce new players to our baseball program.  Interested players unable to attend the earlier tryouts, who may be candidates for our 2011 team should contact me for more information about additional try-outs opportunities during the Winter Workout program.  Please tell us about your playing experience when you send us your inquiry and be sure to include the month/year of your birth so we may determine age eligibility.
