Keith Forbes, a native of Malden, Massachusetts, is widely considered one of the top baseball instructors in New England. He has developed—and continues to instruct—many of the top pitching and hitting prospects in the area.
Forbes has an extensive baseball background. In 1996, he was awarded a full scholarship to play NCAA Division 1 Baseball at Troy State University. During the 1997 and 1998 season he went 9-2 with a 3.28 ERA for Troy. On the heels of his collegiate success, he was selected by the San Diego Padres in the 1998 Major League Draft. Keith spent 5 years pitching in the Padres organization. In 2000, Keith led all minor leaguers in appearances when he appeared in a combined 74 games for single-A Rancho Cucamonga and the AA Mobile Bay Bears (Padres Farm System). Over the years, Keith has been affiliated with several other professional, independent baseball organizations, including the Quebec Capitals of the Can Am League.
Keith is one of only 3 certified National Pitching Association members in New England. As the Director of Player Development Keith focuses on performance training to improve players‚ health, well being, and athletic performance. He has gained extra knowledge through both home study and seminar opportunities which have allowed him to better care for his athletes. Keith has spent years applying his knowledge of pitching, hitting and fielding mechanics to design comprehensive preventative and corrective programs for the baseball players under his care. He has instituted a winter workout regiman that allows players to maximize their performance while maintaining year-round health, and he incorporates individualized injury prevention programs tailored to the unique needs of each player.
